"Don't Tell Mom The Babysitter's Coop" is the third episode of season 2 of Megas XLR.

Plot Summary[]

Megas defeats a robot rampaging across Jersey City but damages its matter-antimatter propulsion system. Kiva warns that such an unstable device will cause the Earth to be consumed by a spatial void, so Coop throws the matter-antimatter system into deep space. The Earth is saved and Megas returns home, but the system's explosion opens a spatial rift and releases the Karrajor from null space. With his ship repaired and modified, Gorrath declares he will exact revenge on humanity.

Upon returning home, Coop gets bad news: he has to babysit his younger cousin Skippy while his mother visits the mall. Bored, Skippy starts annoying Coop, Kiva and Jamie with his insufferable attitude, so Coop decides to bring him along in his latest adventure with Megas. Unfortunately, even Megas' maneuvers on the Moon fail to impress Skippy.

Suddenly, Megas comes across a large facility built by the Glorft, who have hidden beneath the Moon's surface. Kiva realizes that the Glorft have returned, so he tells Coop to investigate. As Megas infiltrates the Glorft facility, Skippy observes that the Glorft's latest creation looks like an engine, a suspicion that is later confirmed when Kiva hacks into the Glorft's communications. Coop reveals himself to the Glorft, and Gorrath reveals his latest plan: crash the Moon into the Earth, ensuring the complete destruction of humanity. Gorrath orders the activation of the engine, which starts pushing the Moon towards the Earth

The transmission between Coop and Gorrath gets cut off before Gorrath can track Megas down, so Gorrath orders his troops to find Megas. Kiva also discovers that the engine's main power generator is behind a large, heavily reinforced door. Megas is unable to get past it, but there is a airduct that a small person could use to open the door from the other side. Skippy volunteers to go through the duct, but Coop refuses, not wanting to endanger Skippy's life. Unfortunately, he ends up pushing a button on Megas' console that ejects Skippy from his seat and throws him into the other side of the facility, just as Megas is surrounded by Glorft mechs.

As Megas fights the Glorft, Skippy steals the engine's activation key. As Skippy is retrieved by Megas, Gorrath attempts to fire up the Moon's engine, only to find that the key has been stolen. Coop brags to Gorrath about having stolen the key, but he ends up accidentally pushing the key's button and activating the engine himself. To stop the Moon's collision with the Earth, Coop destroys the engine's main power generator. The engine is destroyed, taking a small portion of the Moon with it, and the Karrajor takes severe damage from the explosion. The Karrajor retreats back into null space, but not before Gorrath promises to return once again.

Coop and his friends return home and Skippy tells his mom about his adventure on the Moon. He even asks his mom for permission to visit Coop tomorrow, much to Coop's chagrin. Kiva, watching the latest news report about storms and strange weather patterns running rampant throughout the Earth because of the Moon's detonation, believes they may have permanently altered the Earth's ecosystems, but Coop doesn't care about that as long as he can buy bubblegum with the money he got from babysitting Skippy. Megas departs to the candy store, even when Jersey City gets hit by a huge storm.

End credits[]

Kiva forces Coop to manually repair the Moon, reassembling it piece by piece.
